Jane Talton

Jane's imagery is loved by many and reflects much of what it means to live in the New Orleans: a place where tongue and cheek humor, theatrics, fine art, rich patterns and fanciful creatures fit right in to the parlors, parades, unexpected pairings and imaginations of those who live here.

Jane graduated from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in 1999 with a degree in Illustration. Her fascination has always been with rendering character in her subjects. Her favorite stories are those driven by the personalities of the players. Whether it’s in books, movies, or in her chosen medium of painting, she feels that narrative springs forth from the temperament of the individual.

Although her original subjects were people, she’s found delight in representing human emotions in her animal/person hybrids.
