I like working with landscape as a platform for exploring the processes of contemporary seeing.  Paintings of things are, of course, not the things themselves but rather signifiers, explorations of experience.  This holds true for visual language in all forms- implied realism to “pure” abstraction.

Our culture, more deeply than any other in history, relates to space through recorded illusions of it- again, through explorations of experience.  This shapes how we see.
